Kim (she/her/hers) is the Practice Owner of Kim Kaplan Counseling, LLC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Dance/Movement Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Level II) who offers individual psychotherapy for adults experiencing a broad range of challenges: depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief/loss, OCD, addiction, relationship concerns and trauma. She received her Master's degree in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute (2010), and completed intensive training in Authentic Movement (2009) and Yoga Teacher Training (2007). Kim’s approach to counseling is deeply informed by her training in somatic studies, as well as her degrees in dance, and comparative history/gender studies. She specializes in somatic-based trauma-informed practices combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She believes that every person has the innate ability to heal and thrive when they connect with themselves authentically, in mind and body. Kim creates a welcoming environment where you can feel safe, trusting and open to be yourself. Her approach is warm, attentive, caring and non-judgemental. She also offers clinical supervision for mental health professionals who are working toward their LPC in PA. Appointment options are in-person (in office at Greenhouse Wellness, or Walk & Talks in the Wissahickon Valley Park), or by telehealth. You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation with Kim to discuss your goals and needs and how she can help by contacting her at kim@kimkaplancounseling.com or by phone at (484) 704 - 2072.

“I’ve been working with Kim on & off for almost three years. I can recall the first time meeting her and feeling an immediate sense of calm that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. Kim listens with attentiveness, curiosity, and appreciation. She provides consistent feedback and resources that work for me and allows me to work through my thinking and build on our discussions. I can apply our work to my everyday life and I’m grateful to be myself with her and know that I grow a little more each time we talk.”
